Okay. Geekhosting.com is my host and, up till now, I thought they were really, really awesome. Because of how well I thought they were, I had my dad sign up for hosting there. What’s supposed to happen is within 24 hours of receiving my dad’s money, they’re supposed to send him an email with all the information of getting into his account.

Well, it’s been 8 days since they received his money. I sent an email to their billing department, no reply. I sent a support request via the form on their website, nothing. Then I had my dad send an email to the last email addy I had on them: their admin account. I just told my dad to give them a specified time and then report them to the Better Business Bureau. (I also was going to have him report them to PayPal, but I didn’t figure that stuff out till after he sent the email.)

Well, tonite, just on a whim, I went back to their homepage. I clicked on their Live Help link…and they were actually there! (Before I just redirected to a form that would send an email to the admin account. That was actually where I found that addy to give to my dad.) So I went in, talked to a guy, and now I received the email. Finally!

Sigh. I wish there hadn’t been a problem. I was planning on having the band site and possibly the Robotic site though them. I guess I’ll just ask the people involved in those sites what they want to do. Cause, IMO, I like the hosting. It’s just…well, their customer service isn’t the best in the business. I suppose this is one of those situations where “you get what you pay for.”

Damn. This means I now have to go find another host to be back up. Fun.

Well, this will be interesting. I’m in the middle of moving the domain name (HoosiersForProgress.org) over to my hosting account on Geekhosting.com and I’m hoping it doesn’t give me any troubles.

Cause if it does, I’m going to be mad.

It was simple! Granted geekhosting.com has made it a one button install, so I would hope it wasn’t a difficult task.

Next thing to tackle is installing Live+Press to synch up my LJ and blog.

I finally feel like an official blogger. I love LiveJournal and all…but now I have total control. Good stuff.
